National Digital Safety Campaigns

ACSAI's #TellPerson and #IGoReportAm campaign expanded awareness and action against Online Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse through culturally relatable messaging, short videos, infographics, and digital outreach.

The campaign reached more than 2 million people, increased public recognition of online child sexual abuse as a prosecutable crime, and helped drive a 60% increase in CSAM reports to ACSAI's digital reporting platforms.

Nigeria's First Accredited Internet Hotline

In January 2024, ACSAI launched Nigeria's first and only INHOPE-accredited internet hotline for reporting CSAM, intimate image abuse, revenge porn, and sextortion.

The hotline enables confidential reporting, faster assessment of harmful content, and collaboration with platforms and law enforcement to support rapid removal and response.

Strengthening Child Online Protection Structures

ACSAI contributed to drafting and validation processes for Nigeria's Standard Operating Procedures for Child Online Protection with the Nigerian Communications Commission and other stakeholders.

ACSAI also delivered capacity training for the Nigerian Police CID Gender Desk, reinforcing understanding of OCSEA and incident handling.

Community-Led Digital Safety Education

ACSAI's Safe Hub Club and youth-centred initiatives such as The Digital Diaries help co-create culturally relevant, age-appropriate digital safety resources.

These platforms equip children and caregivers with practical information on risks, healthy online behaviour, and early warning signs of exploitation.

ACSAI uses social media and thought leadership to mark key thematic events, including the Day of the African Child and the International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict.

INHOPE Hotline of the Month

In 2025, ACSAI's Nigeria hotline, iGoReportAm, was recognised by INHOPE as Hotline of the Month for excellence in operational performance, reporting quality, survivor-centred response, and cross-border collaboration.

The recognition reinforced ACSAI's role as a trusted African leader in child online protection and a growing contributor to global digital safety efforts.
